We are working hard to erase the limits not just for the sake of economic development, but also for a sustainable future friendly to society, people and nature.

To this end, we support sustainable initiatives, develop sustainable products, and undertake long-term projects for individual and social development.

Sustainability is an indispensable part of leasing solutions. It is also very nature-friendly as it allows businesses to invest in newer, more efficient and less resource-intensive equipment. As Yapı Kredi Leasing, we believe that financing businesses and consumers for sustainability to extend product life and then reuse or recycle is closely related to sustainability.

In the footsteps of Yapı Kredi, of which we are a subsidiary, we are aware of our responsibility: There are no limits to our service to create a sustainable future.

OUR SUSTAINABILITY ACTIVITIES

Gender Equality

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, the industry leader in gender equality, we support women’s participation in economic life and mind gender equality in recruitment.

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, where all assistant general managers are women, we continue to shape the industry with the rate of females in our senior management. We are also proud that 75 percent of our company management is women, which is a rate well above the national average.

Equality in Education

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, we place education in the focus of our corporate social responsibility activities. With the projects we implement towards that aim, we aspire to reach as many individuals as possible. In this context, we organize mentoring programs with the Private Sector Volunteers Association and shape our trainings in line with the needs.

Leasing School

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, we also support the industrial knowledge of our employees. In this direction, we organize annual industrial trainings at Yapı Kredi Banking Base. In addition, we organize sustainability trainings by hosting significant guests in the field of sustainability at our monthly company meetings.

Sustainable Offices

In the scope of waste management, we removed the garbage cans in offices and placed recycling bins in common areas to separate waste.

In order to minimize consumption of paper and plastic, we removed the paper cups and gave glasses to our employees for their personal use.

We switched to using LED lights in our offices to save energy.

In order to minimize our water consumption, we replaced all our faucets with sensor faucets.

Paperless Leasing

With our “Paperless Leasing” Project we started in 2017, we centralized printers, scanners and photocopiers in our Directorate General offices and prevented unnecessary waste of paper.

In 2020, we renewed our Document Management System and adopted online archive application.

In 2022, our Regional Directorates joined our “Paperless Leasing” project and we centralized printers, scanners and photocopiers in offices.

The amount of waste paper we produce, which was 1.2 million in 2016, decreased to 65 thousand papers in 2021 thanks to all these measures. In addition, with our “Paperless Leasing” project, we saved toner and energy in addition to paper.

E-signature

As a first in the industry, we launched the e-Signature application in May 2022.

Thanks to the e-signature application, we became the first financial institution in our country to perform remote transactions, including signing of end-to-end contracts and documents in commercial loans.

By encouraging our customers without e-signatures in this direction, we support their sustainability and digital transformation. Thus, we aim to prevent unnecessary paper use.

Sustainability Committee

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, we established our Sustainability Committee in 2021 to conduct all our sustainability efforts under a single roof with an adequate, effective and strategic governance model. Our committee, which convenes weekly, closely monitors the developments in our country and in the world, and determines the steps to be taken in the field of sustainability.

Sustainable Energy Investments

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, with the largest energy portfolio in the industry, we are also the industry pioneers in the field of renewable energy and undertake a significant share in renewable energy projects in our country.

International Funds

 IFC

As Yapı Kredi Leasing we obtained a three-year term credit from IFC for energy efficiency and financing water conservation. Being one of the Pioneer companies to obtain this financing for water conservation in the world, Yapı Kredi Leasing is the first and the only Leasing company in Türkiye to use this fund.

 EBRD

Our two-year term financing agreement as Yapı Kredi Leasing with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is continuing. We became the first leasing company to receive a share from the source with the agreement signed in the scope of Green Environment Financing Facility (GEFF). We support green economy with this financing we obtained while we aim at contributing to the sustainable economy by financing companies that focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy. 

 WORLD BANK

As Yapı Kredi Leasing we are continuing to use credits sourced by the World Bank through Turkish Development Investment Bank Inc. and Turkish Industrial Development Bank.

 JBIC

As Yapı Kredi Leasing we are the first and the only Leasing company to use ECA credit through financing by Japan Bank for International Cooperation.

 EFSE & GGF

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, we plan to continue without slowing down energy financing in the coming years with funds we obtained from GGF & EFSE and our long-term cooperations.

 OTHER INTERNATIONAL SOURCES

As Yapı Kredi Leasing, we believe that the importance of sustainable energy will continue to increase in the coming period. Therefore, we support transition of our clients to a greener future with our sustainability themed products. Besides, thanks to the international sources we ensure, we aim at siding with our clients to support our country to achieve its climate targets. Thanks to our cooperation with international finance corporations we play a key role in using sources devoted to sustainable and green economy. In addition we work intensely to ensure 55 percent of our work are projects to finance energy efficiency. We will continue to assume responsibility for a sustainable future to be a strong supporter of our clients in their transformation towards sustainability.
